The slightly tired-looking exterior (the place used to be China Buffet) will make you appreciate the interior updates. Walking across the quaint wooden bridge over the koi pond, you'll head directly toward the brightly tiled sushi bar at the back of the restaurant. Along the way you'll notice warm colors and bamboo highlighting the many arches in the dining area.

The breadth of the menu is impressive. While the focus is on sushi and rolls, there are enough other options for people that shy away from anything raw or wrapped in seaweed.

The haru maki was a crispy spring roll full of vegetables, and the avocado salad pleased, with the deep green fruit sliced across the entire bowl. The real stars of the show were the rolls, with a presentation that rivals some of the best I have seen. This is in part due to a new style of sushi, according to owners Peter Sun and Mark Teng. The "angry dragon roll" was visually stunning, piled high with vibrant colors - we almost didn't want to eat it. It featured shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and sliced papaya, topped with the tastiest king crab salad, with incredibly well balanced flavors.
