The Scotch & Sirloin remained true to its roots as a steakhouse, even when beef was no longer hip in the 1980s.With the recent resurgence of steakhouses, the restaurant's belief in the concept has been rewarded. There is a sister restaurant in Syracuse that opened a few years before the Rochester location in 1972.The extensive wine list has garnered the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence.

Use to be my favorite restaurant. The quality and service has gone way down. I think it is under new management.

When you order an entree make certain you specify which size you want, petite or full. I"ve noticed that if you don't you will be served the petite portion and charged for the full portion. Also, be careful when ordering dessert, especially the Strawberries with Grand Marnier; somehow they forgot to put in the Marnier. Bar drinks are very skimpy in the Rochester restaurant.
