25 Bengal Terrace

Set against the backdrop of Cobbs Hill on the city's east side, Bengal Terrace is a quiet street where residents enjoy the surroundings of one of Rochester's many parks. Here, historic street lamps line the street and mature trees grace many lots. The houses of Bengal Terrace are largely from the early 1900s and showcase many architectural styles.

25 Bengal Terrace is a traditional American foursquare, with a hipped roof, central dormer, wide front porch, and an off-center front door. The oak front door with glass inset is sure to welcome neighbors and friends.

Once inside, the first thing you'll notice is the warmth of th original wood trim that is all around you. Pillared entryways, gleaming moldings, and a staircase reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts period are just a few of the details you'll notice right away. In typical foursquare style, the floor plan is open with an abundance of natural light. To your left in the foyer, a pillared panel. The dining room entryway mirrors the one in the foyer, featuring another column. In the dining room, the walls are accented by a plate rail that runs the perimeter of the room. A large pantry in the dining room offeres ample storage space, and a nook at the back of the dining room would make a comfortable sitting area for morning coffee, to read a good book, or perhaps watch the kids play out back. Through the dining room is the kitchen, updated with new appliances and cherry cabinetry. Off the kitchen, at the back of the house is a small deck that overlooks the private back yard.

Going up stairs, notice the beautiful stained glass window and how it lets in a soft light. Once upstairs, you'll notice that the second floor of the house is likewise designed in classic foursquare fashion. There are three bedrooms, each on a corner of the house. Each bedroom is unique - one features a playful mural and a door for a sleeping porch. The large second floor bathroom has been recently updated.

This 1400 square foot house also has a dtached tow-care garage, new roof, driveway, furnace, central air, and water heater. The list price is $139,000, and taxes are $4,843. To see this house for yourself, contact Angie Flack Brown of Nothnagle Realtors at (585) 461-6321.
