Re: “The Empty Hearts

Frank, Little Steven loves to play the Rolling Stones in their garage band phase. From their second american LP titled 12x5 there is a kick butt song (my favorite) that I have only heard him play on his show. The title is "Empty Heart"......(is like an empty lie...).

That's where I believe the band's name came from.

Re: “Greg Townson unmasked

Been watching Greg play guitar since we were teenagers. He makes us proud AND makes us dance back home in Rochester.

Re: “Classic innovation

Interdisciplinary studies with music and the other arts like dance and film is nothing new in the academic world or around Rochester. Nazareth, Brockport, and Roberts have been actively creating interdisciplinary art works for a number of years. The Eastman has a long history of failing to be innovative.

Re: “The Heroic Enthusiasts

Our mistake. The mixing engineer The Heroic Enthusiasts contact was *Mick Guzauski,* a Rochester native who worked on Daft Punk's latest album "Random Access Memories."

Mick Kawalski [Daft Punk]?

Re: “Five local guitar makers discuss their craft

Thank you, Frank and John and all of you incredible luthiers who have been so supportive of each other. Rochester has much to be proud of not only in the lutherie skills, but in the way the music community here supports each other. Of particular note for me are Amanda Ashley, Tommy Bianchi of the Coupe de Villes, Matt Rammerman,The Firehouse Saloon, The Thirsty Frog, Richmond's, Johnny's Irish Pub, The Lovin' Cup... I could go on and on with people and places who have taken me under their wing and provided me with opportunity to display and demo my craft... Yes, indeed. Rochester's music community has much to be proud of and I have much and many to be thankful for. Greg Bogoshian. RockBeach Guitars...

Re: “Five local guitar makers discuss their craft

The person who took the photo is an artist as well—so it's not the worst thing in the world if you took note of his name as well as his craft.

Re: “Five local guitar makers discuss their craft

Hey Bruce, thanks for the comment! We're currently working with our website developer on some tweaks to our site (the way photo captions are displayed being one of them). The "styling" of the captions is determined site-wide, so it's the same formatting on every article (i.e. we can't change JUST this article). Thanks for the feedback, though, and I'm glad you enjoyed the article & photos!

Re: “Five local guitar makers discuss their craft

Holy cow, isn't that quite picky? I had no problem reading the captions of the pictures and knowing immediately who the guitar maker was and who the photographer was.

Re: “Five local guitar makers discuss their craft

Very nice article. The photos are excellent but I would suggest that they be labeled with the artist's name in bold and on top and the photographers name less bold and below.
