Well , where is Edibles on University for God's sake ? We have been around forever ! Check it out. Also Jim's on Winton Road North as well as on East Main are great for diner food . Ellison's on East Main and Winton has. undergone structural changes and changes to the menu . Thay have a full bar and simply amazing tasty food with excellent pricing . This town is so one horse is so many ways . Get out there and live it , be it do it . Do not be out in the stratta dissin on everybody else's livley hood all the time either . If you have something to say that is real feedback find the owner of the eatery or business , the chef for example even the manager if they have their head in the game will discuss the feedback and hopefully make it right . Work it peeps don't work people over .Kate Beckett 9/5/2013

Hey folks, just a friendly reminder: comments left on this article will not count as votes in Best Of. You have to take the actual survey. Feel free to write in whoever you like for the various categories once you click on the link.
Unfortunately we can't change the ballot at this point, since literally thousands of people have already taken it. But we will gladly take any feedback you have on the survey and take it into consideration for Best of Rochester 2014.
Please add Healing Haven Massage and Wellness (and Michelle Cunningham for favorite therapist.) to your Best of... Thanks!
Add Sons of Synergy for best acoustic duo
please add a best magazine so Rochester TeenSet Outsider can win
Dear Best Of: Can you please add a Food Cart & Food Trailer category... Not all of us are Food Trucks. Last year you had all three in the same, can we spread out the love please?? Thanx much!
Love to see a Best of Rochester Bed and Breakfast category.
I really wish there were more than one in each category. Why not show who won 2nd, 3rd, maybe a few honorable mentions? Also, I'm surprised that none of the restaurants display a badge of some sort on their website that they won Best of Rochester. Seems like something they'd want to brag about. If I was behind the marketing for this I'd make sure each restaurant had a badge to display proudly on their website and a plaque to hang in their restaurant. http://www.ct.com/entertainment/best-of-ct…
Again, personal preference. I enjoy Rohrbach's Highland, Scotch, Red Wing, & Railroad. That said, I'll definitely look into trying CBs White Hop & Krystoff. I WAS talking bricks & mortar however... Can you technically call 3HB a brewery? If so, then I agree with you (w/ the exception of Bromigo). Cheers!
If you're talking to me about a brick-and-mortar, I defy you to find me a beer that Rohrbach's has ever brewed that's better than CB's White Hop. And their Krystoff is terrific. You have to get your head out of the City and realize that CBs is brewing completely different beer in the last year.
But in terms of beer, nothing beats Three Heads. And they've been around for all of a year.
What IS the place then Benny? CB's? ROC? Perhaps Rohrbach's is just better known than the others? Regardless, you can't say they don't have some decent (even good) beers... if you did, I might be inclined to say you don't know anything about beer.
Or maybe it simply comes down to personal taste - rather than what some wannabe beer-snob might insist?
Can't wait for when people who actually know something about beer vote for a place not because they can also get a Buffalo Chicken sandwich, but because it has exceptional beer.
Because Rohrbach's is not the place.
Nefret: Those categories were in the 2011 Best of Rochester Poll, but were not in the 2012 version. But never fear, they may return next year.
What happened to Best Dessert and Best Asian restaurant? I remember these categories being on the ballot...
There should be a breakdown of the mobile food vendors... Best Food Truck, Best Food Trailer, Best Food Cart-just to be fair. This year 3 of them were all in the same category. Thanx . Congrats to Le Petit Poutine again and LBF & Snow Daze are grateful for the nominations..
You should add a Best Bike Shop category. There are a fair amount of places to buy bikes in Rochester.
It is an outrage that the New York State Fracking issue has not been thoroughly investigated in our Rochester local media. Some might say that Fracking (slang for hydraulic fracturing) is so controversial that our local media is afraid to upset their subscribers and potential ad consumers. But what’s the point of being a news agency if you don’t investigate controversial issues? Some would say if you are ‘pro’ Fracking or ‘anti’ Fracking you cannot be objective on Fracking. I say that is the wrong heuristic because the focus of our attention should be on the health of our environment, not on the health of a particular industry. Our media needs to change their notion of ‘objectivity’ when it comes to environmental issues, especially as Climate Change becomes the lens from which we should view all environmental issues. We are supposed to be informed about important issues by our media, not blinded by them.
