Re: “ROCK | Winter Creek Fest

Max Creek is great, Water Street... not so much. Unfortunately they seem to have a monopoly on the Rochester music scene for a venue of that size. Drinks are WAY overpriced ($5-$6 for a 12oz keg beer in a plastic cup). $25 cover for a headliner that doesn't take the stage until 11pm and then plays maybe 2 hours... It's Water Street's way of forcing you (and your money) to spend the entire night at their venue. I'd much rather see headline acts go on around 8pm and play 'til 11pm w/ a short set break. Water Street sux.

Re: “ROCK | Winter Creek Fest

The bands still have pre show tickets available for folks who are ready to spend night or two out groovin' to some great music!

Re: “MUSIC INTERVIEW: Taking a right

This band definitely became solid when Doug joined on bass. He really knows hows to make that bass line just flow so smoothly with the song, yet pop it enough to be noticeable.

Re: “MUSIC INTERVIEW: Natalie B

This Girl is the real thing. I have been playing in Jazz, rock , Blues, Country and everything in between for a number of yrs and really felt that I had experienced every thing this city had to offer and was just trying to survive like every other musician in Western New York and then I heard Natalie and became excited about this new fresh and unbelievably talented voice with a strong stage presence to boot. When Natalie asked me if I wanted to play in her band I immediately said yes and I have been having a great time with her band ever since.

Re: “Concert Review: RoarShark, Moon Zombies at Monty's Krown

Although this review is valid at points, I think Moon Zombie's ever switching genres is great. They always keep me guessing on what style they're going to play next and I really enjoy the spastic energy of everyone in the band. I've seen them several times and I recommend them to everyone I know, because their style of music is all inclusive.

Re: “Silver bells, decked halls, and more

I enjoyed reading this article, and I enjoy reading Paloma Capanna in City. However, I do have to offer a correction. I saw Handel's Messiah performed on Saturday, December 1, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Reformation on Chestnut Street.

Re: “Concert Review: Glen Campbell at the State Theatre

I was there at the concert, and travelled many hours from Canada to see it. It was a once-in-a-lifetime show for so many reasons. It is true that Ashley kept an "eagle eye" on her father. It was wonderful to see such a loving, talented, and protective family in action. Glen has been God's gift to the world and he will be surely missed, but perhaps through Victoria Ghost, his melodies, his memories, and his music will live on, albeit somehow different. God bless Glen Campbell, and the talent he produced.

Re: “Concert Review: Idina Menzel

Harsh. Sounds like you'd have preferred someone to stand motionless at a mic and sing opera all night rather than be open and authentic.
