I can't believe what has just happened. Pretty horrific to watch that last scene. I thought chopping off Ned Starks head was bad. I really liked Rob Stark but have been watching him this season with an impending sense of doom! I need to start reading the books. I agree that it feels like things are taking a while to happen in this season, they are in danger of alienating some people by not advancing some character plot lines far enough whilst taking away some well loved characters
I hate the ending of the episode. I do not want to see the show ever again. The producers killed the series. The Starks family wasn't supposed to die. I wanted them to live. I wish the father of the Starks family hadn't been executed in season 1 episode 9. I wanted a good ending. I am so disappointed.
I loved this serie. But this turn on killing whole Stark's family disappòinted me completely. What a bullshit and that's the end for me of the serie. Pathetic. Without sense.
And I do think the next big wedding will be pushed to S4
One of the three names was an Iron Born: Lord Greyjoy.
Ken: Yeah, I'm fairly certain the other wedding will be Season 4. They're splitting Book 3 over two seasons -- that has always been the plan. I cannot imagine the show getting to those plot points any earlier than the second half of S4, probably around the same point they did the Red Wedding this time. My current guess on cliffhanger for the finale involves a big advancement in the Bran plot, and the Red Priestess getting tipped off to goings-on somewhere very different.
Regarding the Iron Islands, I expect that stuff to get lumped into Season 4. We saw Yara/Asha in the preview for next episode. I know that people are cool toward the Ironborn stuff now, but her POV chapters in the books and the fascinating politics involving her uncles made me much more interested in that area of Westeros. So I expect that to be a focus of the next season. My question is, will the show even bother getting into Dorne at this point? Or are they just going to let that stay off to the side until those subplots become more relevant to the main story arcs? (Book readers are still waiting for that, with the exception of the Myrcella and Oberyn stuff.)
The author used the word "Spoilers" in the 3rd paragraph before he got into the recap. I think people were sufficiently warned.
Next time say that you're WRITING SPOILERS. The way you wrote that you're going to say what was in the books that wasn't in this episode seemed like you were saying things that could not possibly be mentioned in the next episode. Such as scenes. But you completely went out and spoke about what will happen in the next episode!! THANK YOU.
There is one more death as portended by the Red Witch in the previous episode (Well, two really, but the Iron born are irrelevant to the TV show apparently). I had assumed that the Red Wedding would be the cliff hanger for this season but I guess they are going with the other wedding instead. Do you really think they will push it until Season 4?
Was an amazing show, my daughter kaitlyn played " Audrey" and I couldn't be more proud. The cast was amazing, and as with all of her productions, Judith once again brought magic to the stage! What an awesome group of talent! Thank you for sharing your God given talent with us!
Fabulous review.. Spot on Sir/ess/, I have come to Game of Thrones in a very circuitess (?) way. Don't have Sky, wanted to watch it but couldn't. Picked up the book 2nd hand, enthralled/ Had deep conversation with someone who had watched the tv production, then found out about how to watch online. Can see inconsistencies even though I have not read the other books, dramatic license & all that.. But what a hoot! Tyrion seems to be the only american actor & he puts us all to shame.. I absolutely adore his portrayal. Yummy. Is this as big as I think it is in the States? So many fantastic (& shit) british actORS.. In fact, seems totally UK staffed.. It is a bit buttocky, in the same way the Tudors was, but commendable. Tasteful buttocks, greedy dragons. I like the fact that it can make me laugh even when I'm grimacing. So many programmes are entirely up their own backsides without even knowing it. This production is nigh on pornographic in its shameless self love. It's such a shame that the north/south divide has to be won. As if..
For an amusing Social media slant:
Some of those duets rocked. Seriously has an ousted performer ever been promoted so much?
I am totally Team Candice. I love Kree but felt her energy or interest had waned.
I expected Angie Miller and Candice Glover too, but I’m still glad that I had my three girls together and America at least got THAT right. They both recorded albums, so they will both be just fine. My whole family likes a lot of TV shows, so I’m grateful that when I can’t watch Idol live because we’re watching something else, my DISH Hopper records all of the primetime shows on FOX each evening. That way I can watch it in the morning before I go to my job at DISH and don’t miss a thing when my coworkers talk about what happened.
I think you nailed it Eric. Candice was better last night. I didn't mind the judges at all this season. The shoes were way too high. The songs too lame. Frankly, i am thrilled the season is over. Exhausting!
They were extremely boring. Their stupid 5 inch heels crippled them and they could barely get down the stairs. They stood in one spot and moved their arms up and down. Crappy song choices, creepy arrangements and zero excitement. I couldn't even listen to the judges. Worst season ever. The singers on the Voice are a million times more interesting and the coaches are GREAT.
I loved them both, but Candice performance was better. I hope Candice wins. I voted 527 times.
I pick candice is the winner of American idol she is the best singer
Kree has been my choice since the performance of Stars, That day she touched so many hearts with her Pure heart felt performance, even then, Nikki said "That's the Voice" and Kree has been true during the whole competition..!! And yes I believe the producers Try to throw her under the bus..."Really?" America just showed you, you can't deny "Real Talent" ..Kree all the way... shame on the producers..!
I simply cannot believe what I am reading, except for the above comment (saying that she never liked Angie because she didn't seem genuine). In fact, even that is putting it kindly! I did like a few of her performances behind the piano, but I just . . . couldn't believe her. And it seemed to me that she spent more time playing the politics game than anything else. Oh -- and most important -- while her singing was not completely without merit, she didn't have the talent level of the other two.
So -- on to more positive things -- I, too, was stunned at the choice for the finale -- but only because I have been deeply dissappointed by voting in the past! For me, Kree is great, I've always loved her, but . . .
Candice Glover is a singer for the ages! Not original? Ridiculous! And who cares? Even on the worst song choices, she never let me down a single time. From nearly the very beginning, I thought that Candice's talent pretty much towered over the rest -- even some of the better female singers.
Though I still like Kree despite some shaky stuff over the last month, I feel like if Candice Glover isn't the "next American Idol", there's no justice in the world! I would have felt that way based on her performance of the Cure's "Lovesong" alone most likely, but she's just -- she just knocks it out of the park again and again!!!
