Mr. Grella's sad commentary inspires ennui. While he is criticizing the camera level - a huge shortcoming I'm sure - he spends not one word on emotion, attraction, lust or the capacity we humans have for suffering. The film deserves much better understanding before it is criticized so bluntly. But, then, what could one expect an American, albeit from Rochester, to know about the finer points of love, life or philosophy?
