Superhero movies are entertainment, not art. And I find positives and negatives in both the Hollywood blockbuster films and the indie films. But as a summer popcorn film, "Captain America" did its job quite well. It is by far the most mature MCU film to date and evolves the character from a WWII propaganda piece to reflection of contemporary political espionage.
Found "Her" to be a bit glacially paced, but emotionally engaging. Props to Joaquin Phoenix for what is by far a difficult role.
"Let It Go" has to win Best Original Song come Oscar time. Either that or "I See Fire" from "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug."
Re: “Summer movie preview”
"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" is one of my most anticipated movies left this summer. After seeing the trailer, it looks to do 2011's "Rise" justice in carrying on the rebooted franchise.
