This finale is awful just saying. They should just call it a reunion and have it after the finale. Do the final competition in front of an audience and crown the winner. Then do a reunion show Real Housewives style, no audience-and let the fur fly. But this will never happen, because, again, Ru is stuck on the 'learning lessons' crap and the 'everything must turn out positive' vibe. (Get some bitch diva legends like Joan Collins in for next season's judges, I want to see more of that) The right queen won, at least.
I've been listening to some of Ru & Michelle's podcasts (I turn it off when they start talking about makeup and nails-like what do I care?), and I get that they want to make a positive impact on the world-but a reality competition is not really the place to do it. Sure I get that Ru wants to be a role model for these aspiring superstars, but I don't need to see a fucking life lesson with each queen. It's a COMPETITION. I want to see more of that rather than "The More You Know..." Plus let's see more real world challenges, I say put them in front of a crowd in a gay club, and see how many people they get to pay attention to them! Something like that. Most of these queens are going to end up at the clubs using their name to get more patrons. Let's be truthful about it. So the acting challenges and commercials-well, they're fun but maybe there's a little too much of that. And VISAGE HAS TO GO.
Wow, Miss Courtney totally blew it with that speech. Basically, she was so polished she didn't need this whole experience! According to her, the entire season was pointless as she should have been crowned before it started. This is now a two way race and a classic Eve Harrington scenario. I hope Bianca wins because Eve, er, Adore, is not ready. Here is my rant though: Santino's comment really got to me: Bianca might not be "good for the brand"?!? Dear Ru, Michelle, Santino & this quickly becoming formulaic to the point of tired show: though you claim the winner will be America's Next Drag Superstar-YOU DO NOT OWN DRAG. You are piggybacking on an old and wonderful tradition and you should be grateful and bow down to it daily since it pays your damn bills. So therefore it is not your "brand" and get over yourself.
Um I don't know if this is a spoiler free blog, but without saying too much, I wondered if you think Brienne is going to run into Lady you-know-who, like she does in the books?
Could Michelle Visage have any more disdain on her face when Ben De La sashayed away? I really can't stand her. SHE does nothing for ME. Who made her any kind of expert on any kind of look? She looks like a suburban ticky tacky trashy NJ suburban housewife/ glam wannabe always. What really annoys me about her is that she feels the queens should be "showing us more" You knew once she said we weren't going to "see anything else" from De la, De La was doomed. Michelle, they are characters, They are here to win various challenges. They are not here to magically change into a different persona each week. I like the sly way De La referred to this in his Untucked goodbye. I would love for someone to just tear her a new one. Get rid of her.
What the hell is Joslyn still doing in the competition? She is bringing nothing on the runway except cheese (and now meat). I feel like this show just drops people when they know that person's story arc is done. Trinity had nowhere else to go (in their eyes). She triumphed last week and overcame her self doubt, so boom!--her story is done and she goes.
I absolutely do not want to see another runway look from Joslyn. If she pulls out the Stephanie Seymour wedding dress from November Rain, I'm done.
I know Darienne is a hometown girl and all, but she is coming off as just plain unlikable, possibly due to the edits like you mentioned. But a few more episodes of nastiness, especially towards DeLa, and she'll run the risk of being this year's bully-Roxxy style.
That said--Hallelujah! Laganja is gone.
