Re: “The speed wars

Greenlight is great. My concern with CATV/Time Warner has always been the price. The cost is just outrageous. I can get 21 very clear DIGITAL HDTV channels over the air just by hanging an antenna out my bedroom window. To get these same channels (and TW actually only offers about 10 of these channels) I need to get their digital TV package, which is about $80 per month. I can get a very low quality "analog" version of these same 10 channels for about $10/month over cable, but why in the world would I go back to the days of analog/non-digital low def TV if I have an HDTV set and an over the air antenna????... and its free!

With a High Speed Internet connection there is absolutely no reason for CATV. Except the small problem that I can't get The Learning Channel, or the Oprah channel, or the Weather Channel over the internet. Why? I don't know, ask TW. These TV "channels" have commercials, just like over the air broadcasts..... won't the commercials pay for the show like they do with over-the-air channels??
