This sounds like a great program, and maybe RIT can enhance it by borrowing an idea from DePauw University in Indiana -- at the end of the year, students can donate their unwanted items to benefit local families in need. (I heard about the program in an NPR story last year.) The only obstacle I can see in adopting this idea is getting the larger items to the homes of families who don't have cars.
