Ms. Pierce, I did read the whole article. Was responding to the line where it was stated that people may think it's okay to respond in racist terms because Trump has made racist comments. My point was that people have made racist comments long before Trump came along. People have always felt at liberty to say racist things, which I too have been the unfortunate recipient of. I guess though because I don't view the article and arrive at precisely the same conclusion as you, I must not have read the article. Is this insulting insinuation what you mean by open dialogue and treating others well? Totally disrespectful.
I'm not a fan of Trump, either. But there's no indication that this person was influenced by Trump, or that he wasn't a racist bigot prior to the election. People like this exist everywhere, unfortunately. Sorry for your experience.
The only group who appears to be in favor of new development is Rochester Management. Construction would prove a major hassle for current residents and anyone who enjoys the park. This is unnecessary and largely unwanted.
Re: “Coalition says keep Cobbs Hill Village”
Mr. Thomas, the first line in the article reads: "a new coalition has formed...."
The coalition referred to in this article is a collective of various smaller groups and interests. And the goal of this coalition is to block the tear-down and unnecessary rebuild of "new and improved" senior housing that current residents do not want or need. I see no reference to anything about moving residents to the Inner Loop. What June 16th letter are you referencing? This is a "new coalition" whose expressed opinion is to keep current housing in place. This is not NIMBY. It's about preservation.
