If you missed the sold-out performance of violinist Itzhak Perlman with the RPO in 2012, now is your chance to hear him with the Eastman School of Music's Philharmonia. Neil Varon will conduct works by Dvorak and Brahms. The performance with Perlman will be of Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1, Op. 26 in G Minor. The mere thought of the combination of Perlman and Varon for a Bruch composition should lead to another sell-out show. Varon has known Perlman for years, and one can well imagine that the discipline and passion of their approach will have the audience shouting for encores.
Itzhak Perlman performs with the Eastman Philharmonia on Saturday, February 22, 8 p.m. at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre, 60 Gibbs St. $20-$115. 454-2100, esm.rochester.edu.
