CLASSICAL | Seaman conducts Brahms 4

As Conductor Laureate, Christopher Seaman has typically made his return visits to Rochester in the spring. This concert season, audiences will find a much earlier arrival when the cherished long-time RPO music director leads the orchestra on Thursday, October 15, and Saturday, October 17.

While Brahms's imposing, magisterial masterpiece "Symphony No. 4" gets top billing, Seaman will also be joined by pianist and "From the Top" host Christopher O'Riley for a performance of Mozart's "Piano Concerto No. 22," an effervescent work flowing with sparkling melodies. The concert will open with Claude Debussy's "Iberia," the second of three sections from the composer's work "Images."

Speaking of returns, this concert will not be your only opportunity to see Christopher O'Riley at Eastman Theatre this season. He will be back to host another episode of his NPR radio show "From the Top" on January 17, 2016.

Christopher Seaman and Christopher O'Riley will appear with the RPO on Thursday, October 15, 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, October 17, 8 p.m., at Kodak Hall, Eastman Theatre, 60 Gibbs Street. $22-$94. rpo.org.
