My chief objection to
George Grella's movie reviews is that after reading them, I still have no idea
whether I want to see the movies in question. Roger Ebert's and Jon Popick's
movie reviews usually let me know whether I want to spend my money on them.
It's not just a matter of likes or dislikes. They've
liked movies that I knew I didn't want to see based on their descriptions of
them. In my experience, Grella's condemnation or praise of a particular movie
has almost no bearing on what I actually experience when I go to the theater.
