SPECIAL EVENT: Celebrate Chanukah in Pittsford for the Grand Public Menorah Lighting at 6 p.m. Carry on the tradition of Tikkun Olam (“repairing the world”) by donating canned food items that will be created into a giant menorah, then donated to the Pittsford Food Cupboard. LECTURE: Honor “Human Rights Day in Rochester” at the Downtown United Presbyterian Church. 5 p.m. potluck, 7 p.m. program begins. Dr. Marvin McMickle will give the keynote address. THEATER: Help launch the first Hornet’s Nest of the year at “Next Fall.” Script-in-hand performance and conversation with community leaders of a play dealing with the struggles of a deeply religious, gay man by taking a witty look at faith through the five year relationship of Adam and Luke. 7 p.m. Free.
