Daily Choices: What to do on Monday, February 25 

Recreation: Helmer Nature Center (154 Pinegrove Ave, Irondequoit) will host a Moonlight Snowshoeing or Hiking event for ages 16 and older tonight at 7 p.m. Admission is $5-$7 and includes snowshoe rental and refreshments. Music: Lovin Cup Idol is still going strong, and this week your top 6 local idols will have to face a country themed round of musical singing and shenanigans, while being judged by guests Tad Mack, EJ the DJ, and Emily Jensen from Kiss 106.7. Head on down and see the competition for yourself.

Lecture: Attend "Vote It Right Along! The Singing Hutchinson Family and Susan B. Anthony" with Mitzie Collins at Susan B. Anthony House (17 Madison St.). Music: Head on down to Abilene (153 Liberty Pole Way, abilenebarandlounge.com) tonight and celebrate George Harrison’s birthday with Don Christiano’s A Little Help From My Friends, The Beatles Unplugged show. Music starts at 8 p.m. and is free.

Workshop: Take part in the Healthy Cooking Class that’s all about “Cooking with Tofu: The Wonder Food” today at noon. The event takes place at Penfield Recreation Center (1985 Baird Rd., Penfield) and costs $20 to attend. Register by calling 340-8655, option 6, or visiting penfieldrec.org.
