MUSIC: A band, or team name, says something about the group of people who put it together. My high school bowling league, the Better Kings of Bowling, was full of a bunch of smart-asses who thought we were better than the reigning champion team (The Kings of Bowling) but really weren’t. King Orchid, on the other hand, is something a little more royal: the rock duo from Boston will be playing tonight at the Bug Jar (219 Monroe Ave., bugjar.com), music starting at 8:30, cover a measly $6-$8. MUSIC: Name dropping is a double edged sword for musicians: Why just list off a bunch of people you have played instead of just talking about things you’ve done yourself? Well, sometimes it works out, and that’s the case for Gregg Inhofer, who has recorded with Bob Dylan, toured with Olivia Newton-John, but can sit on his own achievements, being a member of the Minnesota Rock and Country Music Hall of Fame and all.
