Special Event: The Irondequoit Pizza Challenge takes place Saturday, January 26, 4-6 p.m., at Summerville Presbyterian Church (4845 St. Paul Blvd.), featuring pizza shops from the Irondequoit area. The community will decide who has the best pizza. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $3 for children under 12, and $15 for families (four members). Music: Bethesda is a six-piece blend of atmosphere and bittersweet Americana heartache. Even the Akron, Ohio, band’s frivolity is no match for its soaring, epic refrain. Though secular in practice, Bethesda curries belief in its listeners and restores faith in the hardest of hearts. The band is classic American roots with a nod to all of its sepia-toned prequels. Music: The Used is marketed toward the Hot Topic set that isn’t quite all the way into such harsh things as My Chemical Romance. The Used is best taken with a line of pixie stick to mend that broken heart and a heavy ring of guy-liner. And yes, even the band has added some dub to the mix with its most recent album. Comedy: Comedian, actor, writer, producer, and hip-hop artist Mike Epps will bring his stand up act to the Auditorium Theatre (885 E. Music: With her prodigious skills on alto and soprano saxophone, a then-teenaged Grace Kelly wowed audiences at both the 2010 and 2011 Xerox Rochester International Jazz festivals. When she wasn’t unleashing sax solos, she turned heads with her breezy vocal style. Now 20, Kelly — who has shared the stage with Lee Konitz and Phil Woods — has moved to a new phase in her career. Music: January must be a lucky month for birthdays, and there’s not one, or two, but three music birthday bash celebrations worth checking out on Saturday. First up is Heavy Metal’s Steve’s Birthday Show at the Bug Jar (219 Monroe Ave., bugjar.com) with Revelation, Pilgrim, Yarrow, and Blizaro. It’s an early matinee party, doors open at 2 p.m., 21 and over, and costs $6. After that, if you are still looking to party, you’ve got two other birthday options: Lethal Lorelei’s B-Day Bash at the Montage (50 Chestnut St., themontagemusichall.com), at 8 p.m. featuring The Silence Broken, Beneath Hell’s Sky, Hate Machine, and Setiva. And wait, there’s one more, Sossity Taylor’s Birthday Show featuring Blended Soundz and DJ Eddie Cain at Lovin Cup (300 Park Point Dr., lovincup.com), 9p.m., $10.

Music: Rochester TeenSet is putting on a night full of music Saturday at the Bug Jar (219 Monroe Ave., bugjar.com), featuring The Grinders, Clockmen, The Emersons, Rotten UK, and New Mike and the Fast Eddies. Chill Will will be spinning between sets. Music starts at 9 p.m., cover runs $6-$8.

Special Event: Rochester Brawl will present "The Snowbrawl," an arm-wrestling event to benefit Alternatives for Battered Women, on Saturday, January 26, at Skylark Lounge (40 S. Union St.). Formal attire is encouraged, and admission is a $5 suggested donation. Music: Over the last two decades Cory Weeds has brought his bold saxophone sound to groups like People Playing Music, CRASH, The Night Crawlers, and The B3 Kings. In recent years he’s established his credentials as a leader on albums with top New York musicians like guitarist Peter Bernstein, organist Mike LeDonne, and drummer Joe Farnsworth. For his Bop Shop gig at Lovin’ Cup his featured guest will be trombonist Steve Davis, a former sideman with Art Blakey. Music: Syracuse folk rockers The Ruddy Well Band will be stopping in town Saturday at Marshall Street Bar & Grill (81 Marshall St.) at 10 p.m. The banjos and fiddles will be a flying, so stop on down and check the group out.

Music: Pegasus Early Music presents its concert “Voices of the Muse” Sunday afternoon at the Downtown United Presbyterian Church (121 North Fizhugh St.), featuring Laura Heimes, soprano, and José Lemos, countertenor. Show starts at 4 p.m., and tickets run $10-$75.
