Music: Looking to get schooled? DJ Professor will be spinning tonight at the Bug Jar (219 Monroe Ave., bugjar.com) at 10 p.m., for free. Can’t say no to that, so study up and go have a good time. (21 and over only).

Special Event: The summer and autumn farmers’ markets may be long past, but you can still attend the East Side Winter Market at 2555 Baird Road in Penfield. The market takes place on Tuesdays, 3-6 p.m., through April 23. Get some winter produce and goods, and stay in touch with the community. Special Event: Attend the New Year’s Day Superstitious Brunch at New York Wine & Culinary Center (800 South Main St., Canandaigua) today, which has two seatings, at 11 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Tickets are $35, and children under 12 eat for half that price.
