Daily Choices: What to do on Wednesday, May 15 

Art: Head over to Hanlon-Fiske Studios (34 Elton St.) tonight at 7 p.m. for The Icarus Sessions, a series of informal enlightening lightning talks during which you can speak for 140 seconds about art you're working on, what inspires you, what's holding you back, or whatever. The talks are meant to inspire, to connect, and to help work out difficulties. Admission is free, and you don't have to talk to attend. For more information, call 705-6581.

Music: Time for a show down of percussive importance! Vinny and Carmine Appice battle it out on the good ol’ drums tonight when Drum Wars hits Pineapple Jack’s (485 Spencerport Rd.). The battle kick pedals off at 7:30 p.m., tickets run $12-$15.

Workshop: The Rochester Brainery (274 N Goodman St.) will host a Spring Vegetables workshop with Art Rogers of Lento tonight, 6-7 p.m. $50 gets you a three-course meal, each part featuring different ways to prepare rhubarb. Music: It’s summertime, and Schooner’s Riverside Pub (40 Marina Dr., shumwaymarine.com/schooners.shtml‎) opens up tonight to kick off another summer season! Music tonight is presented by Jim Lane at 6 p.m.

Theater: Catch a performance of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" tonight, 7:30 p.m., at Geva Theatre center (75 Woodbury Blvd.). Tickets start at $25 and the show continues through June 2. More info: 232-4382, gevatheatre.org.
