Daily Choices: What to do on Wednesday, November 7 

SPECIAL EVENT: If you need help getting into that holiday season mood, check out George Eastman House (900 East Ave.) today, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. In addition to the current exhibit, which focuses on photography from the 1960s, GEH has the "Sweet Creations Gingerbread Houses" and Festival of Trees on display through December 12. MUSIC: There's just something about the word atomic that gets the blood boiling, the body ready to experience something on the extreme levels of life. Sticky Lips' (830 Jefferson Road, stickylipsbbq.com) Atomic Bomb challenge is one such thing, but tonight you'll also be able to check out rock group Atomic Swamis for free at 9 p.m. A double dose of atomic? How can you miss out?

THEATER: "Sister's Christmas Catechism," a story in which a nun uses her students to find out whatever happened to the Magi's gold, opens tonight, 7 p.m., at Geva Theatre Center (75 Woodbury Blvd.). LECTURE: We don't always consider the effect that the Civil War had on the original inhabitants of this land. Learn more on this subject today, 7 p.m., at a lecture given at Genesee Community College (1 College Road, Batavia) by GCC history instructor Dan Hamner. The talk is called "Among the Many Fires: Trials, Opportunities and Experiences of Native Americans in the Civil War," and is free to attend.
