MUSIC: Conspirator is the edgy electro-rock outfit formed by AronMagner and Marc Brownstein (the keyboardist and bass player from jam-band giants, The Disco Biscuits) as well as New York producer, DJ Omen. The band has experienced several permutations since its inception in 2004, but since the recent addition of guitarist Chris Michetti and drummers Darren Shearer, from the New Deal, and Mike Greenfield from Lotus, the group has garnered serious respect for its expansive sound. See what it is all about yourself at Water Street Music Hall (204 N. Water St., waterstreetmusic.com) tonight at 9 p.m., tickets $15-$20.

SPECIAL EVENT: The YWCA Empowering Women Luncheon, with keynote speaker Kathy LeMay, founder of Raising Change, takes place today, noon-1:30 p.m. at Rochester Riverside Convention Center (123 E. Main St.). Tickets are $60; to register or for more information, visit ywcarochester.org.

MUSIC: ‘Yodel-ay-hee-hoo! Might want to practice tickling those pipes of your own, for tonight Bernunzio’s Uptown Music (122 East Ave., bernunzio.com) is presenting A Little Yodel Goes a Long Way with John Lilly. This is a participatory event, so be ready to sing as well as listen. The hills will come alive with the sound of your own voice at 7 p.m., cost is $20.

ART: Check out the 5th Annual Rochester Art Supply Invitational Art Show, currently up at High Falls Fine Art Gallery (60 Browns Race) through October 30. THEATER: The University of Rochester’s current Humanities Project, “Re-Inventing the Middle Ages: Contemporary ‘Translations’ of Dante and Saint Francis of Assisi in Film and Theater,” has brought Italian actor Mario Pirovano to perform “Francis the Holy Jester,” tonight, 7:30 p.m. in the Interfaith Chapel (River Campus). Pirovano will also teach a workshop on the art of storytelling today, noon-3 p.m., in the Drama House on campus.
