Daily Choices: What to do Saturday and Sunday, September 29-30 

FESTIVAL: Celebrate the autumn season at the Hilton Apple Fest, held Saturday and Sunday at the grounds of the Village of Hilton Community Center (West Ave./Rte 18 at Grove St.). The fest includes arts & crafts, a car show, apple wares, and a pie contest. Hours are Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and admission is free. ART: The annual "ImageArt" exhibition opens Saturday 6-9 p.m. at Visual Studies Workshop (31 Prince St.). The show is held each year in association with the ImageOut Film Festival, and showcases works that explore LGBT themes. Admission is free; more info: 442-8676, imageout.org, vsw.org.

RECREATION: Enjoy the Pumpkin Harvest Festival Weekend & Moonlight Mazes held at Long Acre Farms (1342 Eddy Road, Macedon) this weekend. The site opens at 9 a.m. with gemstone panning and offerings from the Sweet Cone Shop and Farm Market. Tickets for the maze and Back 40 are sold 10 a.m.-4 p.m. for $10.50, and your admission also includes hayrides and cow-train rides. SPECIAL EVENT: The Rochester Museum and Science Center (657 East Ave.) celebrates its 100th birthday this year, and will kick off a bright future with the Big Bang Gala event, "The Ball that Starts it All," on Saturday 6-10 p.m. There will be food, music, drinks, periodic Tesla Coil demonstrations, and special guest, retired space shuttle commander colonel Pam Melroy. FESTIVAL: The harvest comes in many flavors, and some are fermentable! Enjoy wine, food, arts and crafts, live entertainment, and a grape pie contest at the Naples Grape Festival, held at the Naples High School and Memorial Town Hall Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free, but admission to the wine tent is $10 with a 21+ ID. SPECIAL EVENT: Valerie O'Hara of Pike Stained Glass will lead a Church Tour and Lecture Saturday 10-11 a.m. at Third Presbyterian Church (4 Meigs St.). The event is held in coordination with the "In Company with Angels" Tiffany stained-glass exhibition at Memorial Art Gallery, at which Pike is featured. The tour is free. MUSIC: Everybody wake up, it's time to get down! When? Saturday night. Where? Water Street Music Hall (204 N. Water St., waterstreetmusic.com). Who? John Brown's Body, a reggae band that mixes in electronic elements, dub, drums, and bass to create what the group calls "future roots" music. The Buddhahood and Nevergreen open up, so you know it will be a good funky time. Music starts at 9 p.m., tickets run $14-$20.

MUSIC: Some people are a little bit more country than rock and roll, and who's to say that there's anything wrong with that? Flint Creek sure doesn't think there is. You can head on down to Sticky Lips Juke Joint (830 Jefferson Road, stickylipsbbq.com) on Saturday for the band's show. Doors at 9 p.m., cover only $3, and you'll leave a little bit less hungry for that Nashville sound.

MUSIC: Colorado Springs's Rense Liam threw himself down a bizarre bunny hole a while ago, and has come out of it dragging an oversized load of weird and wacky with him. His infectious, and ultimately creepy, brand of freaky folk music, produced under the name Dear Rabbit, falls under the vague, but undeniably veritable, genre classification of "other." Want to jump down the hole and follow him? Head on down to the Bug Jar (219 Monroe Ave., bugjar.com) on Sunday, 8 p.m., $6-$8, and become a bunny yourself.

MUSIC: Flosstradamus has elevated the Juke/Footwork subgenre of electronic dance music from Second City-underground-dance competitions and "Ghetto House" parties to the stages at major college campuses, nightclubs, and huge music festivals, such as Lollapalooza, SXSW, and Coachella. Chicago-based DJs J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci) have spent the last eight years generating groundbreaking original grooves as well as remixing songs by hit artists as disparate as Bloc Party ("Mercury") and Lil' Jon ("Act A Fool"). If you want to party it up yourself, head on down to Pearl Night Club (349 East Ave.) at 9 p.m. Sunday. Cover is $12.

MUSIC: Who says that Rochester can't breed country music? Singer-songwriter Nick Young's sense of country music, along with his power-pop hooks, makes him a comfortable fit with the alt-country crowd. There's southern guitar rock jangle on some tunes and an indie-rock lilt to Young's voice suggests a north of the Mason-Dixon vibe. He'll be playing Saturday at Abilene (153 Liberty Pole Way, abilenebarandlounge.com) at 9:30 p.m., and it'll only cost you $4-$6.
