FOLK | Fiddles & Fibers

Across two days and four stages, and with more than 100 performers, Genesee Country Village's Old-Time Fiddlers' Fair offers equal reverence for seasoned professionals and still-learning amateurs. Each of the four stages will have a specific focus, with a New Performers stage, a Main Stage where noted regional fiddlers will kick-off each hour, an Exhibition Barn stage for expanded performances, and the Brooks Grove Church, the natural acoustics of which should complement unplugged performances. In the Carriage Museum located next to the Exhibition Hall there will be free workshops open to all musicians. Other venues in the periphery are the Fox Den which hosts a country and western open-mic, and the Fiddlers' of the Genesee will host a jamming tent next to the museum's gazebo.

The Old-Time Fiddler's Fair will take place Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, at Genesee Country Village and Museum, 1410 Flint Hill Road, Mumford. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. $12-$20; free for children under 3 and performers. For more information, visit gcv.org.
