The Tax Department, in cooperation with community partners throughout New York State, supports 85 free tax assistance sites. User-friendly software walks the taxpayer through the tax filing process, reducing errors and ensuring that all appropriate credits are claimed. Each site is staffed by Tax Department volunteers who help taxpayers navigate the software.
