Rochesterians in the know make tracks to Georgie’s Bakery and Café when they’re in the mood for a Cubano, a fat sandwich (it comes in two sizes: large and larger) with ham, pork, turkey, swiss, pickles, and more on a freshly baked roll. Georgie’s also serves hot and cold subs, soups, wings, burgers and hots, and breakfast sammies. Friday is for fish fry, and on Saturday Georgie’s offers Puerto Rican home cooking (roasted meat, rice, and beans) till it’s gone. Georgie’s is a full-service bakery, too, selling breads as well as sweets like their popular Latin-American and Italian pastries.
