Grinnell's

Open since 1961, the elegantly low-key Grinnell’s is one of Rochester’s last old-school steakhouses, incorporating Italian favorites and classic French preparations into a menu with an unmistakable emphasis on meat. The lamb chops are served with mint jelly and the pork chops with applesauce, while other proteins often get French-ed or Marsala-ed. (And Tuesday is calf’s-liver-and-bacon night.) There are also a number of seafood options as well as timeless starters like stuffed mushrooms and shrimp cocktail.
