Young Scooter is one of the latest rappers to come out swinging from Atlanta's Southern trap scene. But the musician easily sets himself apart through his freestyle: he never writes down his lyrics, preferring to go off-the-cuff at the microphone. The guy loves money — really, obsesses about it — and has a lot to say. Young Scooter started out in 2008 and already has at least 12 mixtapes out and is working on his first studio album.
Young Scooter will perform with Jose Guapo and Skippa Da Flippa on Saturday, January 9, at the Main Street Armory, 900 East Main Street. 9 p.m. $40. mainstreetarmory.com.
