James Brown's Place

Though this popular, no-frills diner does offer Friday dinner service, breakfast and lunch are king at James Brown’s Place, which has nothing to do with the Godfather of Soul so don’t bring it up. The choices are many: Begin your day with a three-egg omelet, an overloaded frittata, or a stack of Frisbee-sized pancakes, or recharge at midday with a Louisiana po’ boy, a fat burrito, or a smoked pork reuben. Or you could kick-start your afternoon food coma with a Pig Trough, this diner’s version of Rochester’s famous Garbage Plate.
