On Tuesday, January 21, Rochester Regional Community Design Center is kicking off the 2014 edition of its annual "Reshaping Rochester" lecture series with a talk by Jeff Speck, a city planner and architect. Speck is the author of "The Walkable City: How Downtown Can Save America, One Step at a Time," which will be the topic of his 7 p.m. talk at First Universalist Church or Rochester (150 S. Clinton Ave.). Tickets are $15 and available by visiting rrcdc.org/reshapingrochester.html, where you can learn about the following lectures in the series.
Speck will also offer a public workshop on creating walkable communities the following morning, Wednesday, January 22, 8-10 a.m., at the Gleason Auditorium at the Rochester Central Library (115 South Ave.).
