Re: “VIDEO: Activists push for end of solitary confinement

Brother, you got it so right! Solitary confinement as practiced in this state is torture. But we are going to change that, just as other states have done. And as the data proves, the results will mean lower rates of recidivism . This is because the relentlessly punitive model of incarceration fails on all accounts when compared to a restorative model which attempts to repair the damages of trauma as a benefit to society at large.

Re: “Richards clarifies his intentions, sort of

Unfortunately, We need to thank City Newspaper for pumping the worse aspects of this election up to a more bizarre and more divisive level by endorsing a candidate who endorsed someone else. Perhaps your ill-advised promotion of a secret campaign helped push this once respectable Mayor into becoming the central player of the ludicrous farce. This is the poorest example of journalistic judgement that I can ever remember coming from this paper. Your track record is much better, as you have often been one of the few media voices with sense of grass roots ethics. Please resume THAT course when and/or if you get back on the rails of common sense.

Re: “The people's buildings

Another of the People's Treasures among Public Spaces is Lamberton Conservatory....here's my homage to its 100th Birthday in words and pictures.

That it was constructed from a kit designed by the company that brought the first affordable Glass Buildings to the America takes away nothing from its charm.
