Guest speaker Dr Rory Cottrell, is a researcher at the University of Rochester. She will tell us about An Archeomagnetic Record from Southern Africa and its Bearing on the South Atlantic Anomaly. A dramatic decrease in the Earth’s magnetic field in the past ~160 years may be linked to a low intensity geomagnetic anomaly in the south Atlantic region.
