This fall, local musician Phil Pierce put together the compilation "KDNY" to support his sister Glori Alexander, who had just received a successful kidney transplant. Friday marks the official CD release with a benefit show at the Bug Jar. The jam-packed bill features several of the album's contributing artists: Harmonica Lewinski, Pleistocene, Passive Aggressives Anonymous (PAA), Howlo, Ivory Lions, and MD Woods. Pierce's stylized garage rock outfit Buffalo Sex Change will also perform. If all that weren't enough, Crawl Babies — the Brooklyn band from which Buffalo Sex Change emerged — is set to reunite for the show, with a cameo appearance from PAA's John Valenti on keyboard. There's a suggested donation, and all funds go to Glori Alexander and her family in order to defray medical costs.
