ROCKABILLY: Rockabilly Riot

If last week's Rosie Flores/Marti Brom rockabilly filly, double-trouble hootenanny didn't unscrew your lid, then this twang-tastic triple bill ought to do it. First up is the honky-tonk husband/wife combo of Kraszman & Fishwife, a June-and-Johnny-esque duo that has monster guitarist Todd Krasz dialing back to sing some good ol' Americana with his old lady. Krasz pulls off an exceptional vocal performance even though he suffers from acute vocal-chord limbosis, a rare condition where the vocal chords down to the legs resulting in an extremely low voice. The cat croons like an earthquake while his wife simply suffers from acute cuteness. The equally cute and rocking Krypton 88 has returned to its less-countrified three-piece raunch and will rough up the joint before headliners, and one of the finest purveyors of traditional rockabilly, Toronto's The Royal Crowns spin the place into the dirt.

The show goes down Saturday, November 17, 7:30 p.m. at Abilene Bar & Lounge, 153 Liberty Pole Way. $6-$8. abilenebarandlounge.com.
