The event is co-sponsored by Western Finger Lakes ReLeaf, Cornell University Cooperative Extension in Monroe County and NYS DEC Urban Forestry.
Speakers include Chris Luley with Urban Forestry LLC and Jerry Bond Urban Forest Analytics LLC. Both are Tree Risk Assessment Qualified by the International Society of Arboriculture, the publisher of the BMPs.
This new industry standard provides guidance on assessing tree risk and also sets a benchmark for use in the judgment of future work. This workshop familiarizes tree professionals and managers with the new ANSI standard and Best Management Practices. There will be indoor and outdoor exercises promoting its use in everyday context. The workshop will inform attendees about TRAQ (Tree Risk Qualification program) but will not teach TRAQ content or methods.
