Garrison Keillor, the ruby-slippered author, storyteller, humorist, and host of the Minnesota Public Radio show, "A Prairie Home Companion," will be back in Rochester this week with his "A Prairie Home Companion's Radio Romance Tour." Keillor will be accompanied by singer and fiddler Sara Watkins, comedian Fred Newman, Rich Dworsky and The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band with guitarist Pat Donohue, and violinist/mandolinist Richard Kriehn. Expect two hours of duet singing, absurd improv with sound effects, Guy Noir Private Eye, poetry, outright foolishness, and of course, the news from Lake Wobegon.
The event takes place on Thursday, August 1, at 8 p.m. at CMAC (3355 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua). Tickets are $35-$75 for pavilion seating, or $20 for lawn seating ($25 day of). Learn more or purchase tickets by calling 800-745-3000, or online at cmacevents.com.
