SPORTS: Amerks Home Opener

It's that time of year again, when the ice starts to fly, punches soar at a whim, and teeth pop out of a player's mouth as quickly as freshly popped corn comes out of the kettle. Yes, it's hockey season. Get into the game this weekend when the Rochester Americans have their home opener of the season on Friday, October 12, starting at 7:05 p.m. The competition will be the Syracuse Crunch, and the battlefield will be the Blue Cross Arena (1 War Memorial Square).
