Indelible body marking, one of the least-known mediums of expressive culture by indigenous peoples of North America, is the subject of a fascinating presentation with author, archeologist and researcher Lars Krutak joined by Ganondagan curator Michael Galban. They will explore the many facets and forms of indigenous body marking across every cultural region of North America, including the Northeastern Woodland peoples. Learn the knowledge transmitted through ancient and contemporary forms of Native North American tattooing, and how tattoos relate to beauty, power, spirituality, medicine, and identity.
