Charles Dickens' classic tale of London's most sour and greedy miser who has a change of heart at Christmas is coming back to Rochester this week. For several years Geva Theatre Center (75 Woodbury Blvd.) has upheld this holiday tradition, and will revive it starting Friday, November 23, and continuing through Sunday, December 23.
This year's "Carol" will be based on the 2010 adaptation of the Dickens story by Mark Cuddy, the production's director, featuring music and lyrics by Gregg Coffin. Returning cast members from years past include Guy Paul as Ebenezer Scrooge, Jim Poulos as Bob Cratchit, Melissa Rain Anderson as Mrs. Cratchit, Ned Noyes as Fred, and Remi Sandri as the Ghost of Jacob Marley.
In addition to the showing on Friday at 7:30 p.m., performances will run this weekend on Saturday, November 24, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, November 25, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets start at $25. For more information and full schedule of shows, call 232-4382 or visit gevatheatre.org.
