When you have 20-30 years (some people say 40-50 years) of failure in the RCSD, the only conclusion one can draw is that this system is rotten to the core. We keep having the same conversation year after year, but things never get better. In fact, they get worse. "Culture change", yeah right.

Ok, so now Mr. Cruz and Ms. Campos, after opposing Mr Gantt last year and Ms. Warren this year, are now doing their bidding? This line of reasoning is ridiculous. It may be that Campos, Cruz and Evans have decided that they are not going to be pawns of the RTA, and are actually serious about educating African American and Latino students.

What the hell does a declining student population have to do with the fact that the RCSD has proven to be incompetent when it comes to educating Rochester's children? The declining population is a symptom of the problem, not the cause.
I was at the forum, and I found it to be both a robust and entertaining discussion. It's time for a new approach to educating our children. what we're doing now isn't working.

This was not addressed as a partisan issue. Along with asking the County administration to increase its allocation we are also asking the Governor and State Legislature to increase child care funding. We also mentioned the new Federal child care regulations that amount to an unfunded mandate.
The information we presented about the cuts to child care funding over the last five years came from your office.
We stated that the need for child care subsidies is increasing in the suburbs, and that it is not just a City issue. We also said that we are hopeful that with a new County Executive and a new Human Services Commissioner, things will change. We fully understand that Mrs. Dinolfo is not the blame for what has happened in the past.
While I understand that you have been speaking with the Administration, and that you value your relationship with them, I am disappointed that you would frame what happened yesterday as the Democrats making this a partisan issue. You should have called our office and asked us what was said before posting your comments.
I look forward to continuing to work with The Children's Agenda to make child care accessible and affordable for all who need it.
