Never before had popular songs been so direct an expression of the mood of America than during World War 2: stirring patriotic anthems, comic takes on military life, and love stories that ache with longing. Nearly three quarters of a century later, the songs of the time still tell the stories of lovers separated, perhaps forever, played out against the larger theme of national purpose. Presented by the Greece Historical Society.
