WEEK AHEAD: Hearing on Eastman Business Park permit

Posted By on Mon, Aug 18, 2014 at 10:17 AM

The State Department of Environmental Conservation will hold a public hearing on its plan to renew a hazardous waste permit for Eastman Business Park at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, at Eastman's Theater on the Ridge.

The permit covers storage tanks and the incineration of sludge from the business park's wastewater treatment plant. It also covers continued monitoring and cleanup of contamination. If approved by the DEC, the permit would be held by Kodak and RED-Rochester, the company that owns and operates Eastman Business Park’s utilities, including the wastewater treatment plant.

DEC staff will be available for questions prior to the hearing, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
