Water and snacks provided by Wegmans will be available during registration. The 2-mile walk will kick off the event at noon and take participants through part of the MCC campus. The Gluten-Free Food Fair will be held immediately following the walk inside the gymnasium. Gluten-free samples and hot/cold items will be available from local and national companies. WROC Channel 8 will be on site to provide media coverage. The Making Tracks for Celiacs Walk is a fundraiser for the local Greater Rochester Celiac Support Group and the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Center for Celiac Research (CFCR). Locally funds are used to help educate the Rochester celiac, gluten sensitive, and wheat allergic community. CFCR is engaged in clinical care, diagnostic support, education, and research in celiac disease. The mission of CFCR is to increase awareness of celiac disease in order to provide better care, better quality of life, and more adequate support for the celiac disease community.
