In echoing opinions of all the pundits, Robert Gerace adds nothing to the debate. What he and others don't get is that there is no support within the U.S. citizenry for large scale military intervention, even assuming this would work. Thus, discussions about no fly zones, more advisers, weapon sales, et al, simply fritter around the margin. We need to give the governments or Israel, Saudi Arabia, and others in the region a reality check that this is fundamentally their problem to solve, while we establish rational prices on energy and commit to real energy independence. Imagine what will happen when we don't need any more goo under Middle East deserts.
