Re: “Yet another attempt to improve city schools

"...we should be teaching our children the scientific method and the reasons for a Bill of Rights."
The Demon-Haunted World

I believe if we taught our children the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, especially Article 1, that we are born free and equal in DIGNITY and rights, and how to complete a science project, we could fulfill Sagan's dream for our county. We already have DASA and STEM here in New York State; what is needed is leadership that is dignity centered and supportive of the Next Generation of Science Standards.

Re: “Preview: WALL\THERAPY 2018

I would like to see next year's Wall Therapy theme to be DIGNITY.

Re: “Another big plan unveiled to fix the city's schools

I believe that DIGNITY should be the guiding principle for every action in the Rochester City School District. Dignity Coordinators should be drawing inspiration from the 200th anniversary of Frederick Douglass's chosen birthday to educate our children about DIGNITY. With the school district's new code of conduct in place, the district needs to double down on the Dignity for All Students Act and provide the Dignity Training for all teachers the law requires. As Frederick Douglass once wrote, "It is easier to build strong children than repair broken men."

Re: “Conduct discussion in RCSD brings out deep-rooted issues

Dignity needs to be taught to teachers, parents, and students alike.
Within the new code of conduct is a provision to train teachers in the Dignity for All Students Act.
I believe the RCSD would be wise to bring Rosalind Wiseman to town to address how the use the concept of Dignity instead of respect.
