When an Italian politician (Gastone Moschin) accidentally gets locked inside his computerized, armored limo after a mechanical failure, it triggers a series of headline-making events, especially since it happens in front of the house of his political rival, Vincenzo (Ugo Tognazzi). The event becomes a scandal involving many people, including Vincenzo, his feminist daughter (Valeria Golino), his wife (Piera Degli Esposti) and her onetime terrorist lover (Enzo Jannacci) hiding in the basement.
