This is a past event.

This gripping and celebrated drama is based on an actual incident that occurred in a convent in Brighton, NY in the 1970’s. The plot, centered on a tug-of-war between the divine and the physical, is well-known for provoking audiences to ponder important moral and spiritual issues. Sister Agnes is a novice nun who gives birth and insists that the child was the result of an immaculate conception. Following the performances on 4/24, 4/26, and 5/4, GRRC will host “talk back sessions,” each with a person connected with Maureen Murphy, the Rochester nun acquitted of murder in 1977.
