ALT-COUNTRY | Woody Dodge

It's been nearly 20 years since Rochester-based foursome Woody Dodge began making music. The band's alt-country sound is self-assured, as it decidedly dances the lines between rock, country, and Americana. Woody Dodge's first two albums — "Emma's Dance" and "Nature is Strange" — came out in the mid-1990's. The former saw extensive play on local radio as well as cuts featured in the soap opera "As The World Turns." Years later, more seasoned and comfortable in their craft, the band members returned with their third project, "Humble Me!" It's less flair and more conviction.

Woody Dodge plays Saturday, February 21, at Abilene Bar and Lounge, 153 Liberty Pole Way. 9 p.m. $5.;
